SPF Record Checker

Read your domain’s SPF policy and spot common record configuration problems.

Use the envelope-sender / Return-Path domain if it differs from the visible From address.

Enter a value above to start. No account needed.

How this check works

We find SPF TXT records, check common syntax issues, identify the ending policy and count DNS-querying terms written directly in the record.

What this check does not prove

This is a basic configuration check, not a sender-IP evaluation. Includes, redirects, macros and nested lookups are not expanded; a small direct-term count does not prove compliance with SPF’s 10-lookup limit.

What does ~all mean?

It asks receivers to treat unmatched senders as a soft failure. -all declares failure; neither policy guarantees how a receiving mail system will handle a message.

Can I publish two SPF records?

A hostname must not publish multiple TXT records beginning v=spf1. Combine authorised senders into one policy rather than adding a second SPF record.
